US now wants India to sign NPT

The Barack Obama administration is doing exactly what the US has been doing for the last several years. It has tripled the financial aid for Pakistan in spite of knowing that Pakistan is using part of it for building weapons against India.
Also Obama administration has once again started asking India to sign Non-Proliferation Treaty, in spite of knowing India’s opposition to it for years together. Obama administration is asking for this only to make India reduce the pressure on Pakistan issue.
Over the coming months, there could be more trouble for India, because Obama administration would like to create more global confusion by focusing on non-issues like NPT, Iran , North Korea etc., because it is slowly losing control over the US economy.
The US just needs one big trigger now to again reach all time lows because it is suffering from 9.7% unemployment and a very weak housing market. And the US government is already running on 1.3 trillion dollars deficit which it cannot grow further.

India has already been recognized for it’s rocket and satellite launch capabilities since 2005. And it has added one more feather to its cap by launching a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle , carrying seven satellites.
Of the seven, one is a major satellite meant to help India monitor climate and also ocean system better. The other six satellites are tiny satellites belonging to other countries done on a commercial basis. In the coming years, India can be expected to pose a major challenge to US and Russia on satellite launches. The launch also makes India the holder of largest number of orbiting geo-stationary satellites. India would benefit immensely if it is able to manage the climate projections better as it has to feed over one billion population.
With the Indian economy booming in the last few years, it is only possible that the food demand in India will be going up. That makes the climate and weather management systems all the more important.

US may not contribute for global emissions for now

Posted by admin September - 15 - 2009 - Tuesday ADD COMMENTS

The United States has only seven percent of the world’s population, but it contributes a massive 25% of the global gas emissions that is spoiling the ozone layer. Therefore, US needs to take the lead role in global gas emission reduction, which in fact involves stricter control on the factories and homes.
US is currently going through one of the worst economic recession , for which it has already spilled out over one trillion US dollars in the last one year.
It is already running on over 1.3 trillion dollars of budget deficit this year, which cannot be bloated further. So US is badly in need for cutting down on budget deficit, so it is not possible for US to accept on any gas emission reduction plan which will cost billions of dollars.
At best US might give some futuristic plans indicating the need to take a global view on the issue and move forward. And such a futuristic plan by the lead player US could be enough for other countries to wash off their hands for the time being. So gas emission reduction plans have to wait for some more time.

US deficit to hit 1.6 trillion this year

Posted by admin September - 10 - 2009 - Thursday ADD COMMENTS

The actual US government deficit in the year 2008 was at 455 billion dollars and everyone was blaming it on mismanagement by George Bush administration. And that was a record high which everybody felt would never be breached again.
But the slow and steady sub-prime crisis started eating into jobs and also started killing banks and companies every month. And the new Obama administration which took charge in January 2009 is creating record of sorts on the deficit front.
The US trade deficit in 2009 is all set to touch 1.6 trillion dollars, dwarfing the 455 billion dollars deficit last year. The continuing fall in tax revenues for the government due to increasing unemployment and also reduced corporate profitability is only adding to the problem.
The 800 billion dollars stimulus plan is the key reason behind the record deficit which could not be avoided by the Obama administration due to failing banking system. The entire US banking industry came under severe stress and they needed billions of dollars of financial aid which has been funded by the government in the last one year.
The government pumped in tax payers money and borrowed money worth nearly half a billion dollars into insurance companies, banks, mortgage companies and also automobile companies.

Swine Flu spreads across the globe…2000 killed so far

Posted by admin September - 5 - 2009 - Saturday ADD COMMENTS

Swine Flu started three months back and killed over 100 people in Mexico, the origin country. And it started spreading out to all other European countries and also US and Japan, through the traveling population.
The virus spreads in the air and soon after identifying that all the countries restricted the travel of their citizens to Mexico. But the damage has been done already. As of now, the Swine Flu has spread into over 130 countries across the country, and has also killed over 2000 people.
The Second bout of Swine Flu infections are set to happen in the winter months which are fast approaching. The air borne virus will have more scope for hitting human beings during winter than in summer. The WHO has already declared Swine Flu as a pandemic indicating that it has gone out of control.
The WHO has also asked all the global countries to tighten up their anti Swine Flu measures on a war footing. As per WHO report compiled two months back, except US and Japan , no other country in the world has covered up adequately for Swine Flu vaccines.
The vaccine coverage in India and China , which hold over 40% of the world’s population between them, is less than 10%. And if the Swine Flu spreads faster in winter in these two countries, then it could be really catastrophic.
