After years of watching MTV’s Pimp My Ride, I believe I have already developed this fixation in pimped out cars. Although, I never plan to get mine done in a very fancy way (I think some tweaking here and there are my maximum limits), I am still into customized cars.
This is when I’ve started to think about these pimped cars’ car insurance. Of course, special cars like these can just be listed as an additional vehicle to your preferred car insurance companies’ plan, but experts say that sometimes, the compensation, whenever an accident occurs, aren’t usually enough for the damages incurred with these kinds of cars.
But still, modified and customized vehicles are still very tricky to insure. Not all car insurance companies consider the value of the cars’ modifications, so if you get rear-ended and your paint gets scratched or your special body got dented, you can’t really get the best price for your car.
Apparently, what every customized car owner should do is to find specialty car insurance companies. These firms are especially focused on the actual worth of your car plus the customization it has, so they really have the best policies for special cars.
But then again, as according to the experts I’ve found online, you would still need to do car insurance comparison to find the best deal for your car. Again, various car insurance companies have different rules and rates, so you really can’t just haphazardly pick one at random if you really want to get your car’s worth when something happens.
I must say, though, that maybe, real modified vehicles lovers already know about all of these. Besides, they know that their vehicle’s look is its main selling point, so doing everything to keep it spotless and as good as new isn’t really something that they should be reminded of. Good thing that special car insurance companies are now paying attention.
