A replica darga in India which was built by the Tamil Muslim is declared as the national heritage center. The darga is 182 years old and is an replica which is similar to that which is India is seen in Singapore. The Dargah which is the national heritage cent re is built in the memory of an Sufi saint who was in the 16th century. The name of the Dargh is Nagore Dargh and the name of the Sufi saint is Shaul Hamid in whose memory dargah is built. The nag-ore dargh will be reopened during the month of may of the next year after renovation.
The renovation of the nagore dargah took place for a period of two years and will be reopened may month. The total cost for the renovation is about 5,00,000 Singapore dollars informed the Singapore Islamic council. The nagore dargah was built by 1828 Muslims belonging to the Chulia subdivision in Singapore and is in the central business district. The original shrine of nagore dargah is Nagapatinam district of Tamil Nadu in India.
The repilca built will be featuring the exhibits and articrafts of the Indian Muslim community. Shahul Hamid is considered as the descendant of Prophet Muhammad by the Indian Muslim community and helped the spread of Islam in India. The shrine at present is 61 buildings of Singapore which is protected for the historical value under Preservation of Monuments Act.
