The inferior pedal quality has been haunting the Number one car maker in US, Toyota Corporation, for the last one month. It has recalled over 2.3 million vehicles and in fact stopped production of many popular models to correct the problem.
All these have cost the company badly with the company showing a 16% drop in volume sales year on year in January 2010. Ford Motors gained 14% during the same period, while General Motors gained 25%. All other major players have also shown a respectable growth last month.
Another one or two quarters of weak performance by Toyota could well put the number one slot out for grab by other companies.
