We human beings are very emotionally tied animals. We carry memories of all our loved one and it is always a pleasure to be in touch with them.

We would have had intimate pals from our childhood. It starts from schools, college, places of work etc. But, we do not stay in the same place from birth to death. We keep moving. It may not be feasible for us to keep in touch with all of them. We may not be able to visit them regularly nor call them via phone.

This is where the social networking sites like orkut, facebook, twitter etc comes as a boon to us. We can get about their updates on a very regular basis, can share photos, videos, information, send messages and what not.

We would be virtually having a get together by connecting to our group of friends.

These social network sites indeed keep us going.

The climate change is affecting every part of the world , with different parts of the world experiencing different type of climate problems. There are many countries which have suffered from annual monsoon failure, including India, parts of China, South Africa, parts of Europe .
There are also many countries which have seen massive increase in snow fall, that was not seen for many decades. England and parts of US saw heavy snow fall in the last few weeks which resulted in many human life losses.
There were also many countries including parts of Gulf countries, parts of India and parts of Australia and Taiwan, which witnessed unprecedented rainfall and resultant floods.
These flash floods were able to destroy tons and tons of food production apart from rendering hundreds of people homeless.
So the entire world needs to sit down and work on correcting the emission of dangerous gases into the atmosphere.

How do Pandas Signal their readiness?

For female giant pandas who can only conceive on a few days once a year, being able to say “when” is vital.

Now a report reveals that female giant pandas use chirp calls to inform male pandas exactly how fertile they are. The discovery suggests that panda vocal signals are more important than thought, and will aid conservation of the endangered animal, scientists say. The researchers from the US and China publish their research in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B. During their short breeding season, female giant pandas (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) make high pitched calls that are thought to solicit male attention. It gives us a better understanding of this critically endangered species’s reproductive behaviour

The convenience of Stair Lifts

As the medical sciences advance, we all add up significant number of years to our lives. But, we also pay a price in the process. We pay the price of having a lot more old people with us than ever before. It has its own disadvantages. Most of these old people have to be cared for. These people become afflicted with all kinds of problems. The most important issue that a person with older people at home faces is that of movement of the old people. Especially if the home has a number of stairs, the movement for the older people can become very restricted. Also, since most of the accidents happen because of the stairs from where the older people fall, the problem of movement for them is a significant one.

That is where the stair lifts come in. It is just a chair attached to a track. The track is bolted to the staircase. Apart from this, there are no structural changes made to the home. The stair lift can be then used to carry either the person or things such as laundry, grocery and so on, up and down the stairs. All this can be done at the push of a button. Remote controls can be used which call or send the stair lift to another floor. One can fix them at either side of the stairs.

Having this at home gives so much of peace of mind to the caregiver at home. He does not have to worry about the older people or if the people being cared for are invalid. Those at home can still move around even at the absence of the caregivers if the stair lifts are fixed. This is an essential feature to be had at home.

India launches PSLV C14 successfully

India has already been recognized for it’s rocket and satellite launch capabilities since 2005. And it has added one more feather to its cap by launching a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle , carrying seven satellites.
Of the seven, one is a major satellite meant to help India monitor climate and also ocean system better. The other six satellites are tiny satellites belonging to other countries done on a commercial basis. In the coming years, India can be expected to pose a major challenge to US and Russia on satellite launches. The launch also makes India the holder of largest number of orbiting geo-stationary satellites. India would benefit immensely if it is able to manage the climate projections better as it has to feed over one billion population.
With the Indian economy booming in the last few years, it is only possible that the food demand in India will be going up. That makes the climate and weather management systems all the more important.
