A group of scientists have come out with dissection which is virtual touch enabled application. The team of scientists were from Indians who won a ethical science award for the application of dissection. The scientists have started to offer a sympathy to frogs and other laboratory animals. The electronic application is a alternate for the animal dissection in laboratories. Many other endangered lab animals can use this virtual electronic application without any dissection.

The application virtual frog dissection has been developed by California based Emantras Intractive Technologies. The students who want to dissection a frog can learn the anatomy of animals without harming the animals with the application developed. The virtual frog dissection helps the students to explore the frog electronically without manipulating the organs of the frog. The images of the frog got by the electronic device can be visualized in a 3-D image. Many animals like frogs, cats, rat, pigs and other animals are killed and suffer pain during dissection.

The modern animal methods of electronics can replace the animal sufferings and killings. The reflection of the tools of 21 st century can be seen influenced to the dissection of lab animals.More number of animals is felt during when animals are killed for food.Saving the animals in laboratory will just make a marginal difference than the animals had as food.

New invention puts the old invention back

Do you remember when we were small we found of watches? but now no more. Why no more? because most of the cell phones comes with watches which displays the exact time. The traditional clock has replaced the bed side with mobile phones which even have alarm. The UK study poll has showed that the alarm clocks of 1,500 people alarm clocks are missing the alarm clock. There are 82% people who have use a mobile phone instead of alarm clock and wrist watches. The typewriters and radios are not in use nowadays which are replaced by I pods and computers.

The prime purposes of so many inventions have been ditched inside the dustbin due to new inventions. The present generation needs everything in sensibility with style and passion and new invention are giving it. The pager was a new trend during 2001 then it was soon over taken by the mobile phones. The same tape recorders are replaced by CD, television with high definition LCD, computer desktops with laptops. The invention of MP3, DVD I pod, blackberry and laptops have everything we need not carry each and everything that is today’s technology.

A new invention with many amenities, smartness replaces the old one with less amenities. Every thing will fade when a new technology enters and the old ones will be decorated in the museum. Putting the old electronic gadgets to a innovative purpose can be helpful to many people around. Like the old zinc tapes are used for polishing wares and leather tanneries in some countries like India. Pakistan restive North West province has a hotel which serves food in gramophone LP records. The vintage cars from 1930s and 1940s serves as hotel cabins in some Venice hotels. Some people have great ideas of using these fantastic memories in a novel way and impress others.

Discovery Delayed

Posted by admin April - 19 - 2010 - Monday ADD COMMENTS

The space shuttle Discovery has had to pass on a return to Earth on Monday because of poor weather conditions at the Kennedy Space Center.

The low cloud and light rain around the Florida spaceport broke the agency’s landing rules for the orbiter.

Mission Control says several opportunities exist on Tuesday for Discovery to make its descent.

The orbiter has spent two weeks at the space station, stockpiling it with supplies, experiments and spare parts.

“We know how hard you guys worked it today and we appreciate everything,” Discovery commander Alan Poindexter radioed controllers. “We’ll be hopeful of better weather tomorrow.”

There are five possible landing times on Tuesday – three at Kennedy and two at the back-up landing strip at the Edwards Air Force Base in California.

Solar activity and Cold Winters : The missing Link

Posted by admin April - 14 - 2010 - Wednesday ADD COMMENTS

The UK and continental Europe could be gripped by more frequent cold winters in the future as a result of low solar activity, say researchers.

They identified a link between fewer sunspots and atmospheric conditions that “block” warm, westerly winds reaching Europe during winter months.

But they added that the phenomenon only affected a limited region and would not alter the overall global warming trend.

The findings appear in the journal Environmental Research Letters.

“By recent standards, we have just had what could be called a very cold winter and I wanted to see if this was just another coincidence or statistically robust,” said lead author Mike Lockwood, professor of space environment physics at the University of Reading, UK.

Turn your skin into a gadget

Posted by admin March - 26 - 2010 - Friday ADD COMMENTS

Tapping your forearm or hand with a finger could soon be the way you interact with gadgets.

US researchers have found a way to work out where the tap touches and use that to control phones and music players.

Coupled with a tiny projector the system can use the skin as a surface on which to display menu choices, a number pad or a screen.

Early work suggests the system, called Skinput, can be learned with about 20 minutes of training.

“The human body is the ultimate input device,” Chris Harrison, Skinput’s creator, told BBC News.

He came up with the skin-based input system to overcome the problems of interacting with the gadgets we increasingly tote around.

Gadgets cannot shrink much further, said Mr Harrison, and their miniaturisation was being held back by the way people are forced to interact with them.

Social networking sites

We human beings are very emotionally tied animals. We carry memories of all our loved one and it is always a pleasure to be in touch with them.

We would have had intimate pals from our childhood. It starts from schools, college, places of work etc. But, we do not stay in the same place from birth to death. We keep moving. It may not be feasible for us to keep in touch with all of them. We may not be able to visit them regularly nor call them via phone.

This is where the social networking sites like orkut, facebook, twitter etc comes as a boon to us. We can get about their updates on a very regular basis, can share photos, videos, information, send messages and what not.

We would be virtually having a get together by connecting to our group of friends.

These social network sites indeed keep us going.

The personal web connection was given and a tweet was received from the American astronaut. The web connection was given to the international space station. The NASA engineer TWMOTHY “TJ”CREAMER sent the tweet.

The message was sent to the@Astro_TJaccount Timothy owns account the first twitter message “hello twitter verse! We r now live tweeting from international space station- the 1st live tweet from space. The first message is the unassisted twitter message from space.

The other tweets were actually emailed by astronauts previously. The twitter was able to reach the earth because of the software upgrade the space agency feels. NASA called this phenomena as ultimate wireless connection. The tweet communication will help the astronauts in long duration missions to the space. The communication will also provide the astronauts private communications.

Monsoon change affects the world

Posted by admin January - 14 - 2010 - Thursday ADD COMMENTS

The climate change is affecting every part of the world , with different parts of the world experiencing different type of climate problems. There are many countries which have suffered from annual monsoon failure, including India, parts of China, South Africa, parts of Europe .
There are also many countries which have seen massive increase in snow fall, that was not seen for many decades. England and parts of US saw heavy snow fall in the last few weeks which resulted in many human life losses.
There were also many countries including parts of Gulf countries, parts of India and parts of Australia and Taiwan, which witnessed unprecedented rainfall and resultant floods.
These flash floods were able to destroy tons and tons of food production apart from rendering hundreds of people homeless.
So the entire world needs to sit down and work on correcting the emission of dangerous gases into the atmosphere.

How do Pandas Signal their readiness?

Posted by admin December - 2 - 2009 - Wednesday ADD COMMENTS

For female giant pandas who can only conceive on a few days once a year, being able to say “when” is vital.

Now a report reveals that female giant pandas use chirp calls to inform male pandas exactly how fertile they are. The discovery suggests that panda vocal signals are more important than thought, and will aid conservation of the endangered animal, scientists say. The researchers from the US and China publish their research in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B. During their short breeding season, female giant pandas (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) make high pitched calls that are thought to solicit male attention. It gives us a better understanding of this critically endangered species’s reproductive behaviour

The convenience of Stair Lifts

Posted by admin November - 12 - 2009 - Thursday ADD COMMENTS

As the medical sciences advance, we all add up significant number of years to our lives. But, we also pay a price in the process. We pay the price of having a lot more old people with us than ever before. It has its own disadvantages. Most of these old people have to be cared for. These people become afflicted with all kinds of problems. The most important issue that a person with older people at home faces is that of movement of the old people. Especially if the home has a number of stairs, the movement for the older people can become very restricted. Also, since most of the accidents happen because of the stairs from where the older people fall, the problem of movement for them is a significant one.

That is where the stair lifts come in. It is just a chair attached to a track. The track is bolted to the staircase. Apart from this, there are no structural changes made to the home. The stair lift can be then used to carry either the person or things such as laundry, grocery and so on, up and down the stairs. All this can be done at the push of a button. Remote controls can be used which call or send the stair lift to another floor. One can fix them at either side of the stairs.

Having this at home gives so much of peace of mind to the caregiver at home. He does not have to worry about the older people or if the people being cared for are invalid. Those at home can still move around even at the absence of the caregivers if the stair lifts are fixed. This is an essential feature to be had at home.
